Good Afternoon,
With the discard items, please remove them from the system first before they are stamped. If we stamp them first, it may put us in a bind if there is a hold on the item or some other similar issue.
Also, if they are stamped and placed back on the shelves, then it is hard to figure out which ones have been taken out of the system and which ones have not. They get mixed in with newly weeded items that are also put on the shelf.
It is probably best to just get them out of the system first, then stamp and box them immediately afterwards.
Thanks,
Patrick

Non-HPL Item Binder
Hey All,
I've placed a binder with logsheets to record items that we receive but belong to other Library Systems (Harris County, Bellaire, School Libraries, etc.). It is located on the top shelf behind Renee's desk. Please check in Harris County and Montgomery Community College items through HCPL remote access. Please log items in this binder and place them in the Central Bin with a note attached to them. The most recent entries will be in the front of the binder.
Thanks, Tim

AV material with problems
I have moved the shelf for problem AV material to a shelf behind my desk. Please put items on this shelf only that is clearly labeled. The other shelves are for me after I determine if the item is to be discarded or held for a month.
Please ask me if you have any questions.
Thanks
Renee

P Count
Good Morning,
As a reminder, the P Count number entered into the spreadsheet should be what the P Count meter reads at the end of the day, not in the morning. If you take it in the morning, then this number should go in the spreadsheet for the previous day. If I look this morning, December 1, then I should enter that P number into the spreadsheet for the November 30 cell if someone had not already gotten the number the previous night and put it in the November 30 cell.
November 30 and December 1 will not have the same number in them.
The only two consecutive cells that should absolutely have the same number are Saturday and Sunday as we are not open on Sunday. We will just assume the P count reads the same number at the end of the day Saturday and end of the day Sunday.
It is imperative that the P number is recorded each day.
Thanks,
Patrick
