Closing Procedures

Good Morning,

As a reminder, everyone needs to be on the floor when we are about to close at the end of the day. From about 10 minutes until closing all the way up until the last person leaves, everyone should be on the floor to pitch in where needed. Not only today, Saturday, but this goes for every day of the week.

All,

Please note that we got a shipment of earphones in this morning. They are in a box in the cabinet next to the laptop cart.

Volunteers

Please tell anyone who wants to volunteer that the library is closing and there will be no more volunteer orientations until we are open. If they insist, you may give them an application but please do not accept any. Just tell them to call when the library is open again.

DVD Display

All,

Please note that we have moved the DVD display to a table near the book sale display for the time being. The bins are sorted, facing out, into the same categories as before: feature films, classics, non-fiction, foreign language and children's. The few YA DVDs we have will remain along the slat wall.

Please make an extra effort to check the display periodically to ensure that the DVDs are sorted properly.

CATS coloring contest

The musical Cats is in town, and they are having a coloring contest for children ten and under. The coloring sheets are on aisle 17 (picture books). The deadline is next Wednesday, April 13. If anyone turns in an entry, please put it on my desk. Thanks! Carol R.

HP Slate

All,

We have been asked to be a test site for the HP Slate, a handheld device that will allow us to assist customers and do other functions away from a desk. It has Internet access, MilCirc and many other functions.

If you would like to use it, please check with Patrick or me. To track its whereabouts and use, we will have a checkin/out form (similar to the daily sign-in form) here. It will also be on the side, under the daily schedule. Please leave comments on the form as well.
